Golf Course
The golf course is open year round to members and their guests. Golf course closures will be posted in the events calendar. Tournaments, golf lessons and other events are offered throughout the year. Handicap cards are also available at members request. Please see the calendar for more information.
Golf Rules
Please observe proper golf etiquette. If you use a golf cart, please observe the Golf Cart Operating Policies.
- Play is restricted to members and their guests.
- When attendant is absent pay guest fees
($7.00 U.S.) in the slot provided.
- $7.00 Fee for SPIC members without annual
key, $5.00 for guests with members
- Each player must have clubs (no sharing)
- Maximum number in group is 4 on weekends
and holidays.
- Slow players allow faster players “through”
- Replace turf (divots)
- Repair ball marks on greens
- Rake traps
- Ball shagging is not allowed (while course is
being played)
- Children under 6 not allowed on course
- Use litter buckets
- Animals not allowed on course
- All fences out of bounds (stroke and
distance penalty)

Tournaments (Handicap Scoring)
Sandy Point golf
tournaments are fun,non-handicapped tournaments, with golf balls provided for all entrants.
Players of all levels of ability are welcome! Come and meet new golfing
partners. Tournament fees are $5.00 per person per day. Guests with members are
welcome. Please consult the events calendar or call the business office for more information.
Summer Handicap Tournaments
Member awards for the Summer Handicap Tournaments are held on Labor day. To be
eligible for an award you must turn in six scores to the SPIC office no later than ten
days before the tournament. For more information, please contact the business office or call Tom Hiatt at 384-3921.
Free Golf Lessons
Again this year the Sandy Point Golf Course
Committee is paying for a limited number of free golf lessons for any interested
Sandy Point Members. This is a great opportunity to introduce your spouse or
junior-age (8 and older) children to the game at no cost. Call the SPIC office by May 31st.
Private Tournaments
Host your own golf tournament! This year property owners may now rent the golf course for private tournaments. Available on weekdays only and must finish by 4:00 pm. Schedule with SPIC office.
Private Torunament Rules
- A maximum of four reserved hours with completion by 4:00p.m.
- Monday through Friday only (excluding holidays)
- A maximum of 45 players allowed per tournament.
- Cost: $100.00 per hour.
- Sign up with the SPIC office to schedule.
- Tournament needs to be scheduled at least two weeks in advance in order to post tournament and notify golfers.
Golf Carts
Golf Carts are allowed at the Sandy Point Golf Course during the months of April
through October, depending on course condition.
- Access to the course is through the main entrance gate, which will be open Monday
thru Friday, 8:00 A. M. – 4:00 P.M. Those who would like an access key for off hour
entry must request a key, in person, from the Golf Committee during their
normally scheduled meetings.
- Only those persons issued a key may operate their golf cart. Any exceptions are
to be approved by the Golf Committee.
- A maximum of 10 keys will be allowed during the year.
Golf Cart Operating Policy
- Use your cart responsibly. Golf carts are not to be used if the operator expects, or
notices that their cart is leaving wheel tracts.
- Only two (2) persons are allowed per cart.
- Carts are not allowed to operate within 20 feet of tee boxes, greens, and waterway
banks or creek beds when the creek is dry.
- Only cart owners are to operate their cart.
